The Electronic Landscape is one of the first pieces of its kind to become widely known through the world.
It is born during Polar Circuit 2, one of the four meetings of media artists and activists, that swept Europe during the spring-summer 1998 under the name of Virtual Revolutions in the cities of Sofia, Bulgaria, with the SCCA, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, with V2_, Tornio, Finland, with Polar Circuit 2, and in Manchester, United Kingdom, with Revolting.
This project reflects the technique and the ideas that changed the role of the arts in the end of the XX century; it is present in Virtual Revolution’s CD-ROM and subject of debate in the MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Cambridge, USA. The piece analyzes perception and language through digital images, animations and texts and is versatile enough to adapt and fit into new environments and has been presented as a large installation, a show, or in the format of an interactive CD-ROM. It continues to be exhibited through America, Europe and Asia at competitions and meetings ranging from the 2nd Mercosul Biennial in Porto Alegre, Brasil, Video Medeja in Novi Sad, Serbia, to the Microwave Festival 2000 in Hong Kong, China, organized by Videotage, the international Videolisboa 2000 in Lisbon, Portugal, and takes part in Erasing 2004 at the Museum of History of Yugoslavia in Belgrade, Serbia. The homage exhibition The Electronic Landscape 10th Anniversary 1999-2009 was held during 6 months in Barcelona 2009 and as from 2014 is exhibited permanently at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona.
